Back to Life. Back to Reality.

I’m back. I’d like to say that I am fresh and renewed, but that would be a lie. I am completely burnt out. If I could get a few hours off from the boys today, it would not be soon enough.

I did, however, have a wonderful visit. A visit that was difficult to end. It has been a very long time since I had such a great time at my parents. We all got along and the boys were, most of the time, on very good behavior. I enjoyed seeing my mom graduate and giving her a party to celebrate. I loved seeing extended family, as well as meet a new niece and nephew.

My boys got to tromp through the woods, explore wildlife, spend time with Papa and cousins. It was such a great experience for them. I am already scheming a trip in the winter so they can play in the snow.

All good things must end, and I cried as we said goodbye. Then I cried in frustration upon my return home when I became overwhelmed with the amount of things I need to catch up on. The boys are extra cranky, wiggling out all the pent up naughty behavior they suppressed while on our vacation.

I will still be around in the next few days, but my appearances will probably be as scarce as a Hollywood Star that hasn’t been to rehab.

The difference between 4 and 5

Toby (4 yrs): (looking at a watch) Mummy, it’s 40-o’clock.  We better hurry and leave.

Me: Ok, Buddy.  We will get going soon.

Ty (5 yrs) : (with great exasperation)  Toby!  40-o’clock is not even a word!  Or A TIME!  hpmf!  (more eye rolling)

Toby: Oops! Now it’s 70- o’clock…
