Who am I ?

Well, I guess that depends who you talk to… The basic run-down goes like this…

I am a 30+ year old wife of J and mother of Ty (4 y/o) and Toby (3 y/o). I have been a full time step-mother to A (10 y/o) for 7 years. I am a SAHM and struggling freelancer that currently resides in Florida albeit my heart resides somewhere more mountainous and with seasons.

I have a lot of crap going on inside my head. A lot. On going debates, to do lists, worries, things to analyze, goals, and ideas. I have to get them out somewhere and here we are. Lucky you! Sharing a little crazy with me.

In all the free time I have between running my kids all over the face of the earth (which is like none), I read (at stoplights) and experiment with making “green” beauty and cleaning items (child labor -I make them help). Another quest I am on, besides becoming more sustainable, is living debt-free (yes, it is possible!).  I also enjoy cooking new recipes and usually have a few sewing projects in the bag.

Previous to switching my career to full time mom, I have held jobs as a school integration counselor, a domestic violence counselor, and a headstart mental health counselor. After getting burnt out on counseling, I went back to school and got my certificate in Human Resources and became a Labor Law Specialist.

Someday when I am all grown up and my kids attend school full time, I will go back to work on a regular part time basis. Unless, I somehow am discovered as the next famous writer. Then I will just continue to drink wine and eat bon-bons all day and write for a few hours here and there. (just smile and nod; it’s not worth debating)

This is my 3rd blog. They say three is a charm and so far it appears to be true. I started my first blog as a wee blogger on MSN a few years back, but had a lot of issues with them and switched to blogger (Mum’s Mayhem). I stayed there until my life just seemed to be too personal to share and my time seemed too limited to spend. Then I changed my mind. Which almost never happens. Riiiight!

I love sarcasm and disperse it freely throughout my life and writing. Everything I say should not be taken as face value, a little bit of common sense and intelligence is required. So with this being said, leave me a comment with a little blurb about you…

[…] It’s a mess. My house would never make it on the clean list, but with my being home and having all this extra time to I-don’t-know, eat bon-bons (cuz that’s what us SAHMs do, right?) you would think it would be clean enough so that when […]

Hi boogiemum, love your blog. I am a bit sarcastic too so I have enjoyed reading your style of writing. I particularly love your Casper the friendly ghost image. It brought back fond memories for me as my mother had nicknamed me Casper as a child. Thanks for visiting my blog today. I look forward to seeing you around the blogosphere.

Hey- I have been reading and reading and catching up with older posts. I am in Florida too…It took me a while to warm up to the area. My husband helped me…he showed me areas that are ‘true’ florida and do not have cartoon characters…although now with kids, those places do come in handy!

    :-) Amy
