Compost Cloud…
I am on cloud nine right now because I finally have my compost bin all set up. I have a good layer of browns going and am
collecting kitchen scraps to get my green layer next. My kitchen compost pail is ordered and hopefully will be here by the end of this week. Until then, a plastic bag and several runs to the pile will have to suffice. This will be my first try at composting, so I am learning as I go and hope all the extra work will pay off with some awesome soil for my plants.
Composting has been something I have wanted to do for almost a year now. I read some books, but still didn’t feel comfortable spending the money and time until I became a little more secure with the process. A little over a month ago , I took a free class through my county and they even gave me a free bin and thermometer. How can you say no to that? Not only did I learn what to do, but got the materials I needed. I am a ridiculously avid recycler, so naturally composting would be some to which I am drawn. I think what excites me more though, is the thought of taking trash and turning it into something good and useful. To me, that just seems so fulfilling. Cheers to Composting!
