Gravity is working overtime…

Today was a mess. It started off when I was getting dressed, Hubby was pretending to sleep and Toby decided to feed all the fish we have on our kitchen counters and family room floor. A few months back I switched from flakes to pellets because wet thin flakes was nearly impossible to clean up and would stick to everything. Now pellets, they don’t stick. They simply bouncy all ALL over the place. Making an instant scavenger hunt, delighting Toby and making it a premium time for him to work on his fish food pellet angels on the family room carpet. Who needs snow?

After Hubby and all 3 kids helped clean that fiasco up, we got ready to head off to school. Toby and Ty decided that they were now st-ARV-ing and HAD to bring their cheerios in the car. Ty tried to put his shoes on while holding the cheerios and yup, all over the tile entry way, only to be met with Toby thinking it was hilarious and a prime moment to drive over them with his little indoor push car. Out came the tired broom and the messed was annihilated. Oh and Ty was still st-ARV-ing so we fill the cheerios back up.

In the car… Above mentioned cheerios spilled as I passed them back to Toby. The fell down in between an umbrella. I pull what I can out to put back because the boys are so ravenous and I don’t want their teachers to have to deal with the boys if they have low blood sugar, because they are like their Mumma. All I can say is “Watch out!”

I get the boys home and have them take their shoes off on the tile floor. Apparently today’s hot trend for the boys was for them to play in the sandbox. Unfortunately, they did not leave any sand for the other children to play with because it all ended up on my tile floor which yet again was met with Toby making sand angels. And let me just say, the sound of play sand on my natural unglazed tile floor does not sound nice. Well I guess it sounds ok if you dig the sound of a sharp knife screeching against a dinner plate.

Toby decided he wanted pizza for lunch. Or maybe he just decided that pizza would be his next play toy. He didn’t eat one bite then dropped it on the kitchen floor when he went to put his plate in the sink. Sauce was all over my white cabinets and grooved into the pulls on the lower door where our trashcan resides. He was nice enough to try to clean it up for me, but it ended up being pushed around on that tile again.

Then Toby had a brilliant idea. Lets open up the dust buster mum keeps using and dump the dust all over the floor!

Tonight was had fettuccine with garlic and fresh tomatoes with baked kale on the side. Yum! Toby decided that the kale would be much better all over him, in his diaper, clothes, and on the floor than in his mouth. Ty was being his helpful self, clearing the table when that fettuccine ended up all over the floor. By this point, I realize it may be just easier to get the big vacuum out and go for the entire house, ending with the mop.

I hope gravity takes the day off tomorrow.

Welcome to my world! Now just imagine 4 more children making the messes, and you may have a glimpse as to why I’m stressed all the time :) I’ve got to go back to just being a mom. I’ve decided that when the kids go on Christmas break, I’m going to give my notice.

I do hope today is a better day for you!

Gees…a crazy crazy day! Those days are so fustrating. Those things only happen to me when I’m running VERY late for work! Hasn’t happened in a while (knock on wood). I bet the snow angels were so pretty though….ha!

    Have a great day!

God, today has *not* been the day, has it? Arabis started the day by falling out of bed and then proceeded to have every single finger bitten by whatever drawer or hinged implement she could get her hands on.

Not to mention getting the crouton box open and sharing them with the cat (who is now her best friend). We also had snow angels, albeit with breadcrumbs on concrete floor.

    Aiee.

    Calgon, take me away!

Lordy, but I feel for you woman!! Especially the part about the white cabinets and the trash can that resides in the lower doors where STUFF always gets in the grooves of the pull. You were describing my kitchen to the very tee. I’m not a “list” girl, but I do have things in common with you! :)

I have those days. They usually come right after I mop the floor. Why does that always happen?

This morning our episode involved a new box of cheerios. Hopefully that’s where it will end!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! It would be fun to have coffee!! But, yes, the 5 states in between could be a challenge! :) I do agree with you about some pampering! I’m taking the girls out to dinner and to Libby Lu this evening. The joy that place invokes on my girls will definitely cheer me a bit, AND today has been much better. Love, Adele
