Earth Hour 2008
Some of you may be like Dooce’s mom, if this is the case, you might want to move along- nothing to see here. On the other hand, if you are like me, and always looking for ways to decrease my impact on the earth… Well, read on, Sista! I have got some news for you!
What started out in Sydney Australia last year, has turned into a global movement. What may seem so simple and almost silly, is destined to be a catalyst for change and a positive step in a new direction. No grating, no vinegar. You can do this.
On March 29th, at 8:00pm, your local time, simply turn off your lights. If you’d like to take it a step further, then unplug, too.
Last year, 2.2 million people in Sydney did it, this year people all across the world will be joining them. While 60 minutes may not solve the climate crisis, it will be a start. It is another way to stand up for our future generations and realize that we can survive without power for an hour. “Yes, we can!” The ultimate goal of this being each individual deciding to cut back on our energy consumption.
Who is with me? There is only a few days left to sign up. Do you need a reminder? Because I will be happy to send you an email and personally remind you to power down. If you join, please leave me a comment …

Hm. I can do that, but I won’t be home. I’ll be at a minor league hockey game. So…I’ll make sure I turn off all the lights before we leave for the game.
Daisy’s last blog post..Yes, I’m on spring break. Random is good.
