My Little Abe

Yesterday was a particuarly trying day here at the boogie abode. Both the boys woke up with an unquenchable fiery spirit and were literally climbing the walls in their bedroom at one point. Tyler was being mouthy, Toby was not listening “the first time” and in general both of them were about as foolish as I had ever seen them.

I mentioned the type of day I had  to my hubby when he came home from work and he decided to have a little talk with them before they went to bed. The talk didn’t phase Toby at all, and I am not sure he was even listening. Tyler, on the other hand, went into full on hyper ventilating mode and sobbed uncontrollably. He is always harder on himself then we could ever be.

Finally we calmed him down, reassured him of our love and kissed him good night. About 45 minutes later I heard more crying in the boy’s bedroom. My first thought from the intensity of the cry was that the typical has occurred. Typical being Toby clobbering Ty over his head as he is about to go to sleep.

I went to check it out and was met with Ty hiding under his covers and telling me he didn’t want to talk to me. I persisted and finally Ty blurted out, ” I can not lie. I have to be honest with you Mumma. Today in the family room I said the word ’ship’ and I knoooow that is a bad word.”

    awwww
I have one that is hard on herself too. Seems all you have to do is raise your voice sometimes and she breaks down in tears.
What a sweet conscience to be so honest and repent. Hugs for that one!
