My Tantrum

If I was a 2 year old you would probably find me on the floor kicking and screaming right now. If you already had enough of this for one day and am looking for some uplifting peaceful post, well then you might want to move along. I have to write this out or my kids may be finding me, very soon, on the floor doing the above mentioned. I already have caught myself stomping my foot in defiance.

Let me just say it. This week of back to school is kicking my butt. It’s been a long time since school started with a full week. Usually they start off with a half week and I am wishing this were the case this year.

I am not meant to get up early. 6:30 am is early. too early. I have been so stressed that my dreams have been long lists of things to do. I actually dreamed the other night of re-stocking my pantry. I need help.

Last night I was so tired that I was completely passed out like a drunk college student (no alcohol here though!) at 9:15. And no, I am not getting old. I’m not.

Running kids around and trying to catch up on all the things I didn’t dare attempt when I had the kids this summer was not meant to be done in one week. What was I thinking scheduling stuff everyday? I should of been getting Toby engrossed in the world of cartoon land and heading back to bed.

My personal blog goals? Yeah, right out the door. Not only have my post been half brained this week, my new deodorant must not be working cuz my blog traffic has been slower coming to read my lack of intelligence. Maybe they have been forewarned? Having the same issues- who knows?

The boys have not taken one nap, rest or 15 second break from talking and asking me for things all week. All week. My lack of intelligent post? Yeah that’s a result of lack of sleep and trying to type and think while pouring milk, getting snacks and asking the boys to not light the couch on fire. I’m not a miracle worker, folks. I try, but I am not.

I forgot what a serene moment it was to sit with the boys while waiting in the pick up line at A’s school. Fun all the way around, no matter how you look at it. Filled with happy moments of whining about being hungry, hating sitting there and how the other brother is breathing in the same world as them. Love it!

My house may soon be condemned. It’s a mess. My house would never make it on the clean list, but with my being home and having all this extra time to I-don’t-know, eat bon-bons (cuz that’s what us SAHMs do, right?) you would think it would be clean enough so that when my MIL stopped over unannounced the other day, she wouldn’t ask what’s wrong with my carpet and why does it look so dirty? Because of course, I let the kids have food fights in there right after we have a spell of mud wrestling on the carpet.

I love my kids taking Tae Kwon Do, but 3 nights a week when the boys had no nap and a non-stop go-go day, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Toby may be my breaking point here. I am considering offering the studio double tuition to take him before he is officially 4 years old. Anyone good at faking birth certificates? People always ask if the boys are twins…

But. Thankfully, I am heading out tonight with 2 of my friends. A much needed gripe session, I am sure. I plan on trying to unwind, relax, laugh and not fall asleep. I should be ok if we head to the early bird special. I am not getting old. really…

I can totally relate. School pick up time was so much lovelier when the littlest turned old enough to amuse herself with books. It made it so much easier for me to pretend to read something while actually ducking the gossipers prowling the pick up line for Mums trapped in cars to harrangue. Yes, I did actually learn to pretend to pick something up off the floor of my car every time I saw them coming.

I did the time schedual change a while back- listening to Matt’s alarm at 6:30… .he really likes the snooze button. Sadie’s up by seven so thats when I’m up. After a while I could handle not crashing by 9pm. Lack of sleep will mess everything up….

Tomorrow’s friday :) maybe you can keep your schedual light next week and give yourself a few “vacation days” :)
Enjoy your night out tonight :)

[…] me day in and out type away on my computer. The whole 5 minutes they may give at one time before begging me to refill their juice has not gone unnoticed. This one is for you […]
