Bagging 101
Thursday, December 27th, 2007
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We sure did here at the boogie abode. My arms are extremely sore from playing a lot of Wii tennis and boxing. I am also still trying to organize and get caught up with everything. Having the kids hom
e from school isn’t really helping this cause, either.
Today I decided to brave SuperTarget to do a return and pick up some groceries. Have I mentioned before how much I lurve shopping with all 3 of my children? Maybe that’s because there is a reason…
So by the time I got to the check out line, I was already on the edge of a bridge. Taking deep breaths and smiling (you know fake it until you make it?) When the cashier pulled the typical cashier move that usually annoys me, which in reality isn’t that hard to do. (Note: maybe I should work on this as a New Year’s resolution)
As I grab all 800 of my canvas bags… “I would like to put as much of this stuff as I can in these. Please NO PLASTIC BAGS.”
So she starts piling up stuff at the end, not putting them in any bags until I finish unloading my cart and go down and do it myself. Then she stops ringing up and starts putting stuff IN PLASTIC BAGS and then putting them in my canvas bags.
HELLO? Kind of defeats the purpose.
So I kindly say (while biting my tongue and smiling so big it physically hurts me) Oh, please no need to put them in the plastic just hand them to me if you want and I can put them in my canvas bags.
“Do you have any more room in your canvas bags?”
“Oh yes, lots and lots!”
She ignores me and continues to place the stupid food into the stupid plastic bags. I literally dump out the plastic bags into my canvas bags and put them back in the bag area. She continues to do this until I finally just give up and dump all her bags out and put the items into mine.
Why is it I encounter more cashiers like this than ones that understand how to put items in my cloth bags. Do they need some kind of special training? Does anyone else seem to have this issue, or is it my karma just smacking me around a bit?
