So long, farewell, it’s time to say good-bye

NaPoBloMo has come to an end. I am thankful and couldn’t be happier.

I am not sure why this month has been especially difficult for me, as I usually post 6 days a week already. One would surely think an extra day a week wouldn’t kill me, but alas, it almost has.

I have been in a blogging fog. I have missed commenting on other blogs. I have not replied to my commenters. I haven’t done my normal planning and organizations and checks and balances on my own blog. I have fallen into a rut and I can’t get out!

So I say to you, NaPoBloMo, so long…

30 days of thanks is over. I am ready. While it has been a great way to reflect on my gratitudes, I have started feeling sluggish with coming up with things that I can actually share with the world or that are worthy of writing about. I have many things I am thankful for that I didn’t post because of the situation with who reads my blog. I hate feeling restricted like that.30days.png

I enjoyed doing the thankful tree with my family, but after Thanksgiving started to get resistance on a daily basis so gave up on pushing that. I think it was a great lesson for our family and I am very thankful that we did it. We will definitely be doing this again next year, but once the Christmas decorations went up the spirit seemed to change. I am not saying the family is not thankful, because I have noticed that at random times they are now mentioning items that they are thankful for, which is new, but motivation has seemed to change.

Farewell, 30 days of thanks….

As I mentioned before, I am needing a little blogging break. I am not talking about a month or even more than a few weeks. I am not sure exactly how long yet, but starting tomorrow I am taking a short hiatus.

While you won’t be seeing any new post showing up here on boogiemum for that time, you may see some old posts that I will be pulling out of the depth of yesterday’s news and rewinding for another spin around.

You will also be seeing me around the web. I plan on catching up with all my daily fixers, having tea with my friends on Cre8buzz, and doing a little behind the scenes work on my blog.

I foresee some changes coming on my blog and need to research, catch up, and renew myself to keep on keeping on.

Thank you to all of you who participated in 30 days of thanks, it was such a joy to see the number of people who got in the spirit.

And with that, it’s time to say goodbye…

Grandma

30days.pngBesides my mom, she was one of the first people who encouraged me to write. I used to love sitting with her for hours and just talk. I loved listening to all her stories about her life.

I told her someday I was going to write her memoir and still would love to, but things are different now. I live so far away and we don’t talk as much as we used to do. I miss her and how close we used to be. I am busy with my own kids now and my own life and sadly have let our relationship lag. I regret that.

I used to stay at her house while I went to school in a different town than where my parents lived. She would listen to me moan about my parents. She would talk politics and religion with me and listen. Really listen. I could run to her with my problems.

Unfortunately, this caused a problem. Our relationship caused more tension on my already fragile relationship with my mom. I love my mom and my relationship with my grandma seemed to just add to the issues. I have always felt torn between the two and I hate that.

This tension that has been created by our relationship makes it difficult for me to even express my feelings on the matter in regards to making things worse. How unfortunate.

There will always be a special place in my heart for my grandma and I wish we could talk like we used to before things got busy and complicated. I am so thankful for her and all the special time we had together. I love you, Grandma.
