Too busy…

I have just been so busy lately, that I have seemingly forgot to enjoy the littler things in life that make it worth while. One of these things is blogging. I usually enjoy reading others posts and creating my own. The last few days it has seemed more like a chore. I have spent a fair amount of time playing with my boys and doing endless homework with A. Toby hasn’t taken his usual nap all week which has left him super cranky and heading to bed around 6:00. Due to this, Ty and I have got in some nice one on one time, which doesn’t happen too often.
Most of my time has been going to volunteering the last few weeks. I am the homeroom mom for all 3 of my kid’s classes and at this point I am trying to delegate and get systems set up. Tiring. I also volunteered for the book fair at the boy’s school last week. Between that, cleaning, and ridiculous antics of doctors, I have barely had a moment to think. After I dropped all the kids off at their schools this morning, put letters in the Parent Association boxes, and hung up communication folders for parents, I left the boys school in a complete daze. I felt like I wasn’t sure if what had already happened before 9:00 am this morning was real.
To top it all off, Ty hasn’t been sleeping well lately which consequently means I haven’t been sleeping well lately. He calls me in his room a hundred times every night before he goes to sleep and wakes up 5 to 6 times a night with various requests. A few minutes ago he was calling me in there. Furious with his antics, I pop open the door and he tells me there is a rainbow in the sky. I look up at his ceiling annoyed, fully expecting that he is imagining it, much like the Pink Power Ranger that he has told me slept in his bed the last 2 nights. Then he leads me over to his window, pulls back the curtains to unwrap a beautiful fluffy rainbow sunset. I couldn’t hug him tight enough at that moment. I tucked my sweet little boy back into his bed and watched him snuggle with his favorite blankie and knew that moment was one of the most important ones I have had all week.
