Happy 4th Birthday Ty!

My Dear First Born,

This past year has been one of tremendous growth. You now have an overflowing abundance of developed personality and it scares me to death! You started the year out by being completely potty trained. Not a bad way to start your 3rd year of life, if you ask me. Throughout this past year you have learned all the important things in life- like how to snap, blow bubbles with your gum, and ride your 2 wheel bike. This year you also learned to spell your name and build things with nails and a hammer.

You love hanging with Mummy and Daddy. You want to be just like your Daddy when you grow up. You also became extremely close to “Uncle” when he lived here for 9 months with us. You even got a mini motorcycle so you could be just like him. You also enjoy helping Uncle Jimmy with the yard. If Daddy and any his friends are here doing a project in the yard, bath or wherever and they won’t let you help, you cry for hours. You have to always be considered one of the guys. Another thing you like to do is help cook. If someone is in the kitchen, you have to be there helping all the way. Your role as big brother is very important to you. You are so nurturing to Toby and let everyone, even strangers, know that you have to take care of him because you are the “big brother.” The nice thing is that Toby enjoys letting you boss him around and often uses the excuse that he can’t do something because he is “too little.”

You are very mature for your age and you get into the most trouble when you try to act like a mini adult. You swore a few times this year and have no problem bossing me around. You even tried that once or twice with your Daddy, but after he gave you “the look” you ran and hid in your room. You ask non stop questions and need to know exactly what is going on at all times and what might be coming up. If you don’t understand what I try to explain to you, you continue to barrage me with questions until my ears bleed. You also have a tenancy to do that with whining. Ugh. The whining. For a little boy that tries to act 18 all the time, you sure do whine a lot. A LOT. I am hoping that will fade into this year.

This past year you started a few new activities such as soccer (2 seasons- so far you say this is your favorite sport), basketball (you don’t like the loud buzzer), and t-ball (too much sitting around for you). You also take Tae Kwon Do and do very well at it. You are being tested for your yellow belt next week. Recently, you have started drama classes. We have been approached by several people to get you into modeling and such, so we decided to take the plunge and see if you like that type of stuff and how you do. The first day of the class you had no anxiety, went up and introduced yourself to the teacher and told the class you wanted to be a rock star. Actually, if you keep that dream when you are older, I have no doubt that you could make it. You love to be the center of attention, are extremely concerned if you are “cool”, expect everyone to wait on you hand and foot, and already have all the girls you meet swooning over you. You even got your first “rocking star guitar” for Christmas this year.

Everyone you meet loves you. You are such a caring and smart little man. You are always concerned about everyone being happy and are very loyal to your family. We all love you so much. I know, for sure, my world is a better place just for having you in it.

Love Always,Mummy
