One down, One to go…
I am thankful for…
Our first Thanksgiving of the year going fairly smooth. Everyone got along nicely and the food was good. Our turkey was excellent, but my pies were a little undercooked. I think we may have a filament out in our oven, so we will have to get that fixed before our next run of the turkey feast. Another thing that I realized, was that today was the first time that I cooked for my MIL and FIL, that I wasn’t completely struck with worry about my food being good enough. I actually had self confidence about things and enjoyed myself a lot more! Its amazing what 6 years of practice will do.
The boys sat through 3/4 of the dinner without getting up, spitting their food or spilling anything, so that was a plus. The conversation was constant and comfortable, which is always a concern. Overall, the day was a success and so was my MIL’s visit. She even agreed to come back to visit sometime before Christmas. I am so thankful that we were able to spend such an enjoyable time with her.

So the last 1/4 of the dinner they got up, spit out their food, and spilled stuff?
Tell us about that part! Sounds fun!
Just kidding

Well, truthfully? Toby “spilled” more like dumped his water on his plate, and then mixed all the stuff up. Then he chewed up a huge peice of turkey and spit it out saying “yucky!” and got down from the table and started sprinting back and forth in the hallway, only to be joined by Ty. Then Ty got up and down from his chair, and walked and around and tried to take turkey off other people’s plates My FIL says to me, “Are they always like this?” Ahhhh, Yeah.
