Although I have a 1/4 Irish in me, I have never been a big St. Paddy’s Day celebrator. Green looks horrible on me, we don’t drink beer, and we are not Roman Catholic. Just another day in the boogie abode around here.

I am excited, however, to participate in BeccAGirl’s Give Me Five Monday Meme about all things green. I love me some green, so here goes:

1. Green has always been my favorite color. Never was a pink or purple type of girl. For a brief time in my tween years I took a leap over to turquoise, but after a few years returned to regular ole’ green. Now, this is my Toby’s favorite color, too.

2. I have like the group Green Day since I was in high school. A cute, earring laden boy sat in front of me in a class and got me hooked. I still dig some of their songs, but think the original stuff was the best. Isn’t it always?

3. Going green. Something I am trying to do. I love learning new ways to cut back and reduce. I like the feeling I get knowing I am trying to leave the world a better place for my spawn.

4. Saving green. This is also something I am trying to do. Since hubby and I set out on our Total Money Makeover, we have paid off several bills and really got a hold on our spending. I also love the fact that saving money and going green usually are hand in hand.

5. Nature. Love it. Green grass, flowers, gardening. I love it all. The smell of fresh cut grass is one of my favorite smells. I am not the best gardener, just a starting hack. Anyone want to teach me any gardening tricks for Florida? Growing things here is so different than up North.
