NaPoBloMo Hump Day

Are you with me? Let’s raise a glass, or if you are feeling like me, a mug of coffee, and celebrate…Congrats to all of you who made it to the half mark point! We have climbed the hill and now are coasting down. 15 days have gone by and only 15 more to conquer! To quote Rob Schneider, ” You can DOOO it!”

coffee.pngI have to admit, surprisingly this posting every day is starting to kick my butt. Not so much the listing of things I am thankful for, that has been relatively easy, but the posting every day. I didn’t think it would be so difficult because I usually post 6 days a week, regardless of NaPoBloMo. What I had forgot, or didn’t take into consideration is all the busy work I would have preparing for the upcoming holidays.

I am lucky this year to not have another Groundhog Thanksgiving, just hosting one this year. BUT I have committed myself to giving mostly handmade gifts. Oh, what was I thinking? Or most likely, WHY? was I not thinking! To clarify, when I say homemade, I don’t mean from the cool site etsy. I love that stuff, but I am talking about little ole’ ME making everything. Ugh…

I also have barely even started my Christmas shopping. Usually I have everything almost done at this point. I am slacking and it is stressing me. I guess all my rambling spew of stress I am sharing with you all, is to give you a heads up that in December I will be taking a short blogging break. I need to clean, eat, and sew! AND sew some more!

etsy.gifSo, now that I shared some of my crazy with you, I am going to ask you to join. (I know, I am always trying to rope you into doing something, aren’t I?) I am not sure if you have seen this pledge around about buying handmade, but it’s seems to be everyplace. I can’t pledge that and I haven’t. I have committed to myself to obviously make all these gifts in the effort to be eco-friendly, safe, economical and have them come from thought and love.

Why not do the same? It doesn’t have to be crazy, out of hand committing like I have gotten myself into, but why not one gift. It could even be a stocking stuffer or whatever. And, of course. I have have some ideas on what you can make. (like I would just leave you hanging like that- pft.) I have stocking stuffer ideas, teacher ideas, grandparent ideas, and a few more. I also would have a forum for YOU to share your ideas and get a little show-off space :)

Is this something you would be interested in? Do you want me to start posting them pronto or wait until December? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Happy NaPoBloMo Hump Day !

Thanks for reminding me we’re halfway there! NaBloPoMo is kicking my butt, too. I have a constant low-level of anxiety that I’m going to run out of things to post. I suspect that by the end of the month I’ll be posting my grocery lists, but I probably won’t be alone.

I celebrated NaHumpPoMo Day by totally spacing on my Thanks item! Luckily I got called onit before 8:00 a.m., but sheesh! The thing that is kickin’ my teeth in is how much time I’m spending reading everyone else’s NaBlahBlahMo. I can’t keep up and I feel rude for not commenting. In the meantime I’ve started exactly zero of my Holiday Homemades and I’m overwhelmed and crabby. Aaargh! Somebody give me a shot of perspective, please!
