‘Tis the Season

I stole this from Jenorama...

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?

neither. they are both too sweet for me.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?

wraps, in specific wrap for each member of the family ie. superman for Ty, cars for Toby, purple for A

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?

white. this year we do have red and white because we have a candy cane theme going on

4. Do you hang mistletoe?

nah.

5. When do you put your decorations up?

starting the day after Thanksgiving

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?we don’t do a big holiday dinner. We keep things low key. I do enjoy our traditional banana and zucchini bread on Christmas morning.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child:I have so many its hard to choose. We had awesome Christmases when I was a kid. I loved having our relatives stop by in the afternoon after we were all done opening gifts and stuff.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?

my parents told us right from the start because they “didn’t want to lie to us and take the focus off the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus’ birth”

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?

yes. I give the kid’s their Christmas pajamas

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?

with my kids. I put the lights and garland on then they hang all the ornaments on one branch near the bottom, breaking half of what I hand them.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?

Uhm. Love visiting places with snow.

12. Can you ice skate?

yup. my Dad used to make a rink for us in the yard.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?

I have so many from different people. My husband can be a great gift giver with too many good gifts to list. My Dad made me a hairdryer one year. My sons give the best hugs and kisses.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?my kids. I want them to remember their childhood holidays with as much fondness as I do mine. I try to create fun traditions to assist in this.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?

pound cake

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?

On Christmas eve, driving around looking at Christmas lights then coming back home and reading the night before Christmas

17. What tops your tree?

a star

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving?

giving

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?

Santa Baby sung by Eartha Kitt

Nice. While I like to keep my blog a meme-free zone, I may have to make an exception for this one.

Yeah, I’m all for wrapping the gifts as well. I had no idea that people didn’t wrap them! Perhaps a regional thing? Errr, maybe not.
