These are a few of my favorite things
Some of my friends just LOVE the baby stage. Yeah. It was cool. Can’t say it was my favorite. I admit was a mushy mess when each of my boys hit the 2 and 3 year old mark. I knew an era was behind me and I would never experience it again. I would never hold my sweet smelling cuddly babies; I would never nurse again. But! I was soon to find out that things would become even more fun and exciting.
Currently, my boys are 3 (Toby) and 4 (Ty) and I absolutely love these ages. They are full of discovery and understanding. The best part being that a lot of times they understand only half of things and make some really cute remarks.
“B-member when I was just a little tiny baby and would ride my bike with the tiny (training) wheels?”
and
“I don’t want my applesauce. I am allergic.”
They are learning so many new things and they love it. The sparkle in their eyes and smile on their faces when they finally get it. The first time they write a new letter, read a new word, learn to cut with scissors, ride their 2 wheel bike, “b-member” a new TKD form- that’s the best. I love how passionate they get. I love their confidence and transparent pride.
It is so refreshing to share their unabashed excitement over the holidays, or even for going someplace as simple as the dollar store. Everytime a new plant grows at our house or we see a rainbow, it is cause for a moment to reflect on it and celebrate. They help me look at the world with renewed eyes and recall how simple life can be. How basic little things can bring happiness.
Another thing I love about this age, is they still think that I am the best. They are full of flattery. Whether it’s my cooking, how I look or just them telling me they want to marry me when they get older- I suck it all up. I treasure it. I know it won’t last for long. Soon, I won’t be “so smart” because I know how to write the letter “A.” I dread the day when their blind devotion to me is replaced with doubt and annoyance.
I am sure I will discover new things I enjoy as they get older, but presently, they are at my favorite stage. I love this age! When they leave this preschool era, I think I will be more than a mushy mess. Right now, at this time, this is my favorite.

Oh how sweet and fun! And you know little boys are just a blast all in themselves. I love each new stage….I love watching Caleb accomplish things and be so proud of himself.

It’s such a great age isn’t it? I remember that stage so well with the girls. I really enjoyed them.

It’s great to know it will get easier then … I can’t imagine it being anymore fun, though. I write a lot about how my daughters open my eyes to the smallest things. It’s the best part of being a mom.
Nice to meet you!

My son is three and a half, and it has to be the best age ever. The best part is his sense of humor, in that he doesn’t even know how funny he is. Without even cracking a smile, he says things that have us rolling on the floor laughing, maybe because he sees the world with such innocence and bright eyes. Enjoy!
