I have been totally grooving on some new tunes. The first album that has been occupying my ears is Jack Johnson’s Sleep Through the Static. Now, I am Jack Johnson fanatic and have been considering re-financing my home so I can go to Hawaii for his Kokua Festival. Of course, my husband doesn’t seem to think that this is a very good idea. I think he just knows I have a major crush on Mr. Johnson. How could I not?

My favorite song on the album is 7. Same Girl. It’s such a sweet and mature love song. I also am very keen to song 2. Sleep Through the Static. What great lyrics! I highly suggest ya’ll click on down and listen to them. If you are a fan, like me, this is definitely a must have album.

The second new album that has got me excited is quite a change from the mellow melodies of Jack Johnson. I am totally lovin’ on the Dropkick Murphy’s The Meanest of Times. My kiddos love the Murphy’s too, and we are all walking around singing 14. Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. I am a die hard fan of the Murphy’s and think all their work is great.

Unfortunately, neither of these groups are coming my way anytime soon. My hubby enjoys the fact that almost any group I really like, never comes this way. (This doesn’t really make accomplishing my New Year’s Theme very easy.) A lot of groups he enjoys come to our city on a yearly basis. He doesn’t share my taste in most music, except the Murphy’s- our whole family likes them. So, if anyone lives in any of the areas that either one of these groups will be playing at, please feel free to offer me your couch
