Recipe Rally: Desserts
I decided to take part in CHBM’s Recipe Rally this week and share with you a very yummy recipe given to me by my hubby’s grandmother (Thanks, Esther!). I love to make this recipe and stick extras in the freezer for unexpected company (they defrost quickly) and stock up ahead of time for the holiday baskets I make for my neighbor’s every year. I have even given some to repair people to bring home when they have been at the house working on our money pit and let’s just say we never have a problem with them coming right back at a moments notice when we call them again.
Cream Cheese Pound Cake
INGREDIENTS:
| 3 | sticks | Butter |
| 18 | Ounce | Cream cheese |
| 2 1/2 | cups | Sugar |
| dash | salt | |
| 6 | Large | Eggs |
| 1 1/2 | Tsp. | Vanilla |
| 3 | Cup | Flour |
DIRECTIONS:
Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Add salt and vanilla and beat well. Add eggs and after each one beat well. Stir in flour and blend well. Spoon mixture into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours or until golden brown.
Enjoy! The are best when warm and do not require any kind of topping.

Sounds like a great standby. I also like the idea about giving them to repairmen- we have been rebuilding our house in New Orleans so we have PLENTY of repairmen around.
