Supa’ Star!

I have always loved Molly Shannon’s skits of Mary Catherine Gallagher. I actually had a doll of the character perched on my desk in my years of yore. Whenever I used to fall over something, which happens at least a few times a day, I would strike the traditional Mary pose and say “Supa’ Star!” Usually I would get a laugh, mostly from my hubby who thought I was ridiculous.

blogstar.jpgThat’s usually how I view myself. I’m some haphazard accident waiting to happen. Then I get these awards like the Blogging Star from TX Poppet. The award is for “bloggers who shine their light throughout the Blogosphere. Some do it with humor, others with creativity, and others with their kind and thoughtful natures.”

Not only do I feel silly receiving this, but then I read her write up:

“I want her to have this because she expresses her deep care and concern for the world around her every day on her blog. Most especially I want to give her a virtual standing ovation for committing to “30 Days of Thanks” for this year’s National Blog Posting Month. That’s right, she will write one post of thanks every day in the month of November and she’s encouraging others to follow her lead. Way to go, Boogie!”

Is she not the sweetest? Honestly, the kindness that I have found within the blogging community has renewed my faith in humanity. In so many ways in real life, I feel like I don’t quite fit in, then here? It’s like everything clicks.

Thank you, and if you haven’t been over to her blog Canned Laughter, I would highly suggest it. I absolutely love her pictures of vintage ads and her writing is thoughtful and interesting. Since I found her site about a month ago, I look forward to reading her every day.

Now, to pass this on. You all know I hate doing this and have tried to find ways around singling people out in the past. But today, I am going to do it. I absolutely loved Nutmeg’s post over at CHBMs, The Art of Positive Parenting. Her latest posts on her blog in response to being interviewed by another blogger have been excellent, too. She is smart, sweet, genuine, and upbeat. Her beauty is both outside and within. In other words, she is the type of person that I am striving to be.

Okay, you totally made my day! There are times when I struggle with blogging - it adds a pressure to my life when there are so many already and I question why. Thank you for giving me my answer today!

I’m nervous about the month of thanks, but I’m in!
