Just a typical example.
I get a friendly email from my sweet friend, AlabamaBrands this weekend telling me about Swap-bot. I read through and think “oh, this is fun, sign me up!” I go through filling out the application form dreaming of all the cool goodies I will make and buy and will receive in return. I find a cute little swap I want to do and that accepts a newbie and sign up.
Then I get to thinking, which in my case can be quite dangerous. Do I really need all kinds of little doo-dads being sent to me? Probably not. Just more clutter around my already over cluttered house. Do I really need to spend money on purchasing supplies for crafts or other items to send to other people? No, if I have extra money to burn, I should probably save it or donate it to a worthy cause. Do I really need to add CO2 emissions for my packages to be shipped all over the place, including internationally? No, guess not. I went back to the site, deleted my participation from the swap and sulked.
Sometimes ignorances is bliss, even if it is only temporary…

Yeah, I wasn’t thrilled with the international thing.
Thought I’d be more about things I’d find around the house. I’m way not interested in going shopping for strangers.
aI thought I’d be a little more like I’ll trade this cool thing you want for your dumb thing I want. Hahahaha!

Probably a good thing. I think there is one where you just exchange letters/notes instead of items, though I can’t remember the name of it.

Reality bites sometimes, doesn’t it.
