Wine of the Week…
Rodet Mercurey - Vintage 2002A dark ruby colored Pinot Noir that is ripe, smoky and smooth. It embodies a black cherry, cranberry smoky vanilla flavor and is reasonably priced. This reputable wine from France is slowly being discovered internationally consequently, the price is on the rise. While this wine is suggested to complement salmon, pork and steak, it also goes nicely with pancakes (what I had for dinner tonight~lol) and a little Stevie Ray Vaughn.
My husband purchased one bottle of this wine for me and it was an excellent choice. Pinot Noir has been a favorite of mine for years and I have tried several different makes. This is my new favorite, replacing Louis Jadot, which I will post about another time. Pinot Noir is very high in acidity, but Rodet is so silky and smooth that it is hardly noticeable. I would highly recommend this wine to Pinot lovers…

Sounds like a perfect way to “wind-down” the weekend…hahaha. Although I’m more of a white wine girl myself, I do enjoy finding really good reds so keep up the reviews! And have a glass for me

I think for novelty value we should start reviewing Polish spirits or rums….
suffice to say, I wouldn’t expect much in the way of typing afterwards!!
Nice wine review ducks!!

Hello! Hello!! Sorry gal, I was really busy this weekend..no time to comment so of course I had to get caught up!! I’m feeling much better (except for the swollen uncomfortable neck and pulled back) and MY HOUSE IS DONE!!! yeah! Thanks for offering to help (ha)…I’m having a ‘let’s move Lynsey in’ party next Sat. Care to come? It’s only a couple thousand miles away…no big deal.
Here’s my view on the drugs. People only want what they can’t have. The more anyone makes a big deal out of it (rallys) the more the kids want it. If they would just keep it on the down, mind you they would still have some that do it, but they wouldn’t be so intersted in it. They’d probalby just want a curiosity fix.
Anyway, have a good one!!!

Ooooh! Still buying French wines - I’ve abandoned the French - most of the up and coming wine growing countries can trounce them in terms of quality.
Try Australian, South African and your very own Californian wines - all fantastic quality.
And for a nice Italian experience try Montepulciano D’Abruzzo - black cherries and a hint of pepper.
