Just another Meme Monday

I think to myself tonight, “Self? I feel like completing a meme, its been awhile since I have done one. But, where can I find one?” So I look and look and look and can find very few. Finally I found one at Gina’s and here it is…

1. Hardback or trade paperback or mass market paperback?
I am not picky. I have a motto - if its free it’s for me! (see #13)

2. Amazon or brick and mortar?
Amazon. I very rarely get to the bookstore w/o my kids and that makes looking or reading books impossible. Amazon can be accessed when I have the little ones tied up in bed.

3. Barnes & Noble or Borders?
B&N with kids because they have a Thomas the Train track set up. Without the kids I like Borders better.

4. Bookmark or dogear?
Bookmark

5. Alphabetize by author or alphabetize by title or random?
At home? Random

6. Keep, throw away, or sell?
Keep some, Mooch the rest

7. Keep dustjacket or toss it?
Keep It
8. Read with dustjacket or remove it?

With it.

9. Short story or novel?
Novels

10. Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket?
Neither, I know, there must be something wrong with me! I don’t like anything that is not realistic.

11. Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
Usually chapters, with the kids, though it could be anytime.

12.“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”?
Uhm? not sure.

13. Buy or Borrow?
I usually borrow from the library or mooch it. If its something really good I want to keep then I will buy it if I can’t get it through bookmooch.

14. New or used?
Used.

15. Buying choice: book reviews, recommendation or browse?
Browse and recommendations

16. Tidy ending or cliffhanger?
Tidy it up!

17. Morning reading, afternoon reading or nighttime reading?
Afternoon, if the kids nap I may read a bit.

18. Stand-alone or series?
Stand-alone

19. Favorite series?
Little House? Ramona? uhm… Anne of Green Gables? Its been awhile since I plunged into a series :)

20. Favorite children’s book?
Probably the one mentioned above- those series. I read so much as a child its really hard to pick one.

21. Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?
One of my favs is the Tao of Pooh, but a lot of people have probably heard of that.

22. Favorite books read last year?
Snowflower and the Secret Fan, The Myth of You and Me

23. Favorite books of all time?
Can’t say I have one. I love so many books

24. Least favorite book you finished last year?
Memory Keeper’s Daughter

25.What are you reading right now?
Water for Elephants

26. What are you reading next?
Not sure yet. I have too many lined up.

Oh, I’m geussing you voted for Water for Elephants for our next book? That would work out well for you! Anyway, I confess to having a bit of an addiction to Bookmooch - gotta love free books!

I loved this meme! So fun!

I’ll be sure to stay away from “Memory Keeper’s Daughter.” I so appreciate knowing which books are no good!

  3. Julie Pippert Says:

    B&N for the same reason!

I prefer hardback for keepers but trade paperback otherwise.

Must go see about the sunflower book you mention…

I wish I had more time to read. Currently my reads are a math book and a geology book. I read in them so much that I don’t have much of a desire to continue reading.

No more myspace for me, I deleted it. I have discovered by having a myspace it just gives people the oppurtunity to try to make my life hell.

So you know where else to find me :)!
