Housekeeping
I have a lot of housekeeping to do. Both literally and blogwise. I choose to ignore the literal and focus on more important things, like my blog. I mean, who cares if I have to step over piles of toys and laundry, as long as I can find my laptop!
I know I have mentioned this before, but the ladies over at Home Ec 101 are awesome! If you are not reading them daily, than seriously, what are you waiting for? And don’t even tell me you are busy folding laundry, because I think we have already established that blogs are more important than laundry.
Anyway, the reason why I am jabbering on about them again is because they chose my Jap Chae recipe as the winner of their month long mushroom recipe contest. How awesome is that? I don’t know. I think it’s pretty cool. Since my MIL was the inspiration for my entry does this mean I have to share the shirt with her? Yeah. I don’t think so.
What are YOU doing in November? I know what I will be doing- NaBloPoMO and my same challenge as last year- 30 days of thanks. Would anyone care to join me? Yeah, yeah… there is that cleaning and laundry excuse again. Well, that won’t work around here, Missy!I already have a few people that have signed on and will be putting up a list in the next few days. I mean, there IS still a month to go before the hoopla starts, but why not jump on the bandwagon from the beginning?
Next, the gas challenge. Last week I did survive on the $ 30 of gas. I was fairly surprised myself. This week I am going to see if I can go lower. $25. If I can make this, I will have almost returned to my summer loving amount. Nice! The fact that Ty has come down with pink eye and can’t return to school until Thursday DOES work in my favor. (Looking for positives here! )Now that the weather has cooled down to a beautiful 88 degrees, I also have been walking a bit more and turning my car off when I am waiting for the kids in the school pick up line. I love the fall…Here are the other participants updates:Mama Zen- she’s doing great conserving her gasoline!
Catherine- she’s been busy!
And lastly… my sidebar. I have been trying to clean things up a bit. I moved my blogroll (aka daily fix) and my alliance list to another page. There were a few bugs during the move, so if you notice your blog missing from the list, please drop me a line and I will place you on there right away! (of course chocolate and mutual linking may be required)
Alright, I think I have given enough homework for today. Enjoy!

Your page is loading much faster. I can tell you’ve made some changes. Can’t think of anything nicer than 30 days of thanks. Hoping Ty ’s eye is better soon (and doesn’t spread). Tex

Thanks for the great links and the NaBloPoMo reminder. I want to join in this year.
It was nice to have you stop by Slurping Life.

Pink eye! We have yet to have that in the house. Ever.
Good job on the mushroom recipe!
I would like to do the thankful thing. How do I join?

sorry about the pink eye— we feel your pain!
I did end up joining you in NaBloPoMo and not doing too shabby last year even though I started a little late. Its the commitment thing that scares me… I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try, right?

OK, you keep dropping off my bloglines! I think it is when you redo something on your site…gah. Anyway, I’m going to do NaBloPoMo again as well.
Great job on the gas, and so sorry about the pink eye. Gah.

I’m a relatively new reader (delurking for the Great Mofo Delurk today) - found you through another website (can’t remember which) and added you to my feedreader. Just wanted to say that when I pop into your actual website from an Opera browser, the main content in the middle drops down below your sidebars - the middle text area is too wide. But the rest of the design is quite nice.
Keep up the great writing!!

[…] Please let me know if you try this and what you think. I would also love to know if you decide to post your own mushroom recipe and take part in Home Ec 101’s contest! […]
